　　个性温驯的母亲琳，带着天真烂漫的女儿艾欧娜，迁居至小镇展开新生活。感情亲密的她们彼此打气想像美好未来，现实却不尽人意。一心想融入社区活动的琳频频碰壁，惨遭邻居妈妈排拒还视她如怪物；艾欧娜企图成为高校女王蜂的闺蜜，未料女孩们的挖苦作弄毫不留情。母女俩无法向对方倾吐真相，反而开始罗织甜蜜谎言，掩饰失败。但难堪的雪球却越滚越大，直奔悬崖即将坠下。
