◎简　　介

　　爱丽丝（凯瑟琳·赫本 Katharine Hepburn 饰）和哥哥沃尔特（弗兰克·艾伯森 Frank Albertson 饰）一同参加了一场盛大的派对，在那里，孤独的爱丽丝遇见了邀请他跳舞的富有男子阿瑟（弗莱德·麦克莫瑞 Fred MacMurray 饰），看着眼前英俊潇洒温文尔雅的男子，爱丽丝瞬间坠入了爱河。

　　一方面，爱丽丝想要接近阿瑟，可与此同时，她又不愿阿瑟目睹自己贫寒的家境。终于，阿瑟要到爱丽丝家做客了，为了招待这位“贵客”，爱丽丝和母亲没少上下忙活。不幸的是，阿瑟显然无法适应爱丽丝家简陋的环境和寡淡的食物，聚会不欢而散，爱丽丝也陷入了悲伤之中，她觉得自己和阿瑟之间的距离仿佛越来越远。
